Back Again!

Do you ever have recurring pain? Or do you ever have a problem that goes away but then always “magically” comes back? I know I do! It’s with my feet. But technically it doesn’t magically come back! Haha! It's because I stop doing the things necessary to keep the problem at bay. Now because of the long neglect I’ve shown them, a doctor’s visit is in my future and doctors visits are never fun.
This happens in a lot of areas. Strength training for me is a big deal in my life now as I’m trying to live a more healthy lifestyle. And because of my recent surgery I have not been able to go like I would have wanted to. A result of that is less physical strength and some aches and pains (due to less stretching associated with the exercising). But now that I am able, I go and strength train in the areas of my body I can. And it has helped tremendously (though now I have aches and pains for other reasons haha!).
A huge area that this happens for us as well is in our spiritual lives. Do you find yourself more sad or depressed? Do you find yourself distant from God or falling into sin more? Maybe you should examine your spiritual life. Have you been reading the scriptures? Have you been praying to the Father? Have you been fellowshiping with the family of God? I find that when I start having the above feelings then it's often a result of not maintaining my relationship with God. We are objects in motion. We are never in the same place. Either we are moving forward or we are going backward and this all depends on the steps we are taking.
The scriptures tell us these things. David declares in the Psalms “I will treasure your word in my heart so that I won’t sin against you.” Jesus says “abide in me”. And Paul says "be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” All these principles are true. What this tells me is that maybe we should trust what God says. He definitely desires good for us and demonstrated it by his humility on the cross! So today, if you find yourself stuck in a rut check your spiritual tank. And trust that God will take care of the rest.
Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You. - Psalm 119:11
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me John 15:4
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind Romans 12:2
