Northwest Nomads

Fort Rock, OR, USA

How God Worked!!

Northwest Nomads was massive!  There were a ton of folks and it was tons of fun.  We got to encounter so many people at the event.  Friends from our journeys before and new people who we will hope to see afterwards.

This gathering was more of the style that we want to engage in.  It was a festival of nomads who gathered to share life and grow as a community.  There were families, singles, long timers, and newbies all crashing in this field in Oregon.  And God moved in a mighty way.

First we got to catch up with an old accountancy from our travels in Florida.  It's crazy how though you meet in one part of the country you can find one another in an entirely different place.  God had an appointment for us with this family though. He said it was much needed to commune with believers and speak with us because his best friend was grieving the sudden death of his Father and it was taking a toll on him.  It was great to be able to bear the burdens of the family of God as we encouraged and fellowship with him.

Next, we were so glad to get to have chapel and fellowship with other believers at this gathering.  There were so many that came to say that this is something they wanted to try and do in order to have community as believers on the road.  It was a longing they had and they were glad to see that someone was filling a need!  They just encouraged us to continue this path because it was helping.  We definitely needed the encouragement! And all of this occurred without even being placed on the schedule. God is so marvelous!  We hope to establish ourselves in this community as a light to the glory of Jesus Christ.

Finally, I think we may be achieving that. We are becoming more known in the community as a pastor and chaplains for those who desire to know more about Christ and his church or need spiritual encouragement.  During a comedy show the comedian asked if there were any pastors in the audience and as he said that I raised my hand.  Then he said he “I’m not going to pick on you because I know you and you’re just so nice a guy.”  That first lets me know that our love for people is being seen.  Second, it was also a platform for others to see who we are (which is partly why we had some come to the chapel service the next morning).

Overall, Northwest Nomads was a great time of encouragement to see God move.  He absolutely has a love for this community! Continue to pray that he would make himself known through us to them. We are ready to see a revolution for the name of Jesus! God bless you and we will see you at the next event!
